The Tiskilwa Historical Society will again be welcoming summer with its annual Art & Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 8, from 10:00 to 1:00 p.m. on the Museum on Main lawn. The public is invited to wander among the booths, where local vendors will be selling strawberry shortcake, artwork, farm produce, handicrafts, pizza, baked goods. The return native son Harry Quick’s World War I uniform is one highlight of Tisklwa’s Memorial Day Ceremony that will honor all veterans. One of Bureau County’s most beloved nature trails is the Hennepin Canal Parkway. To learn more about its construction, history and current status, Tiskilwa Historical Society has invited Gary Wagle, president of the Friends of the Hennepin Canal, to share insights and historic photos.
