HELLO, March!

B'bye, February and HELLO, March! Both the Gallery on Galena and the Museum on Main will be open this Saturday, March 2. With our new displays and some rearranging just completed, it'd be a good weekend to stop in to see everything, up-close-and-personal.

We've streamlined the Wedding Attire display at the MoM to include six of our recently acquired stained glass windows that once graced St. Jude's Episcopal Church in Tisk. The photo shows Marie Johnston Steimle in her elegant velvet wedding gown along with a close-up with brand new hubby, Charles Steimle, in September 1936. They look like 1930s film stars, don't they?

The wedding photo of Doris and Hobart Hedgespeth is newly installed in the military area of Gallery on Galena, along with their wedding-day attire in 1945 ~~ Doris's lovely navy-blue frock and Hobart's Coast Guard uniform. Actually, they look as though they could have stepped off a movie set, too, from ten years later.
