Walk Tiskilwa Winners

Thanks again to the TCA for putting up all the cheery little Christmas trees and providing award money for the decorating contest as part of our Walk Tiskilwa celebration on December 10.

This year, they asked T-H-S to take care of the judging and presentation to winners. We chose two trustworthy, just a tad outta-town judges who took on the difficult job on Dec. 6 with serious smiles. They considered creativity, originality, and effort. It is always a tough job to choose, but . . .

FIRST PLACE, as this photo shows, was accepted by a very happy Sarah at the Indian Valley Inn. ($50 -- Cookie Monster -- Click on the pic to get the full effect, cookies and all!)

SECOND PLACE ~~Kudos to the Friel Family Farm for their clever, agriculture-based decorations. ($30)

THIRD PLACE went to the U.S. Post Office's red-white-and-blue decorations. ($20)

HONORABLE MENTION was earned by the Tiskilwa Public Library and they received a gift of a dominoes game.

If you haven't taken a stroll down Main Street yet for a closer look, be sure to take some time to do just that before they disappear in January! There are 15 trees this year, including four on the south side of the street and one in the East Park.
