Walk Tiskilwa Returns to Main Street December 11, Stirring up Holiday Cheer

Tiskilwa Historical Society is inviting the community to Walk Tiskilwa on Saturday, December 13, from 9:00 to noon. Since the 2020 event had to be cancelled, everyone seems more eager than ever to “Catch the Spirit.”

All along Main Street, Tiskilwa Community Association has provided fir trees for a decorating contest, with the challenge taken up by numerous local organizations. The morning’s activities will include Lionel trains and a woodcarving exhibit at Museum on Main; a bake sale, Santa Claus, and fellowship at Tiskilwa Community Church; crafts for kids at the library; produce from Dugosh Farms; frothy cocoa at Zig’s Station; and a few surprises. The Village of Tiskilwa has combined efforts with TCA to provide brand new holiday lights for Main Street.

In other locations, the T-H-S will host an Open House with treats and cider at their new Gallery on Galena (north end of town, south of the tracks). Just a block south of Main at 155 High Street, the Tiskilwa Inn will present treats, tours, and alpacas from 10:00 to noon.

A few friendly, curious alpacas will be looking for attention on the lawn of the Tiskilwa Inn from 10:00 to noon during Walk Tiskilwa on Saturday, December 11, thanks to Tiskilwa Farms Alpacas.
