Sept 5 Program in Tiskilwa with photos

Perfect weather, music on the museum lawn, visiting with friends and family, and Dilly Bars to cap it off -- now that's a good way to spend a Sunday afternoon in Smalltown, USA!

With fiddle music and Illinois history provided by Dennis Stroughmatt, more than 100 visitors from far and near filled the west lawn. (I visited with people from Tiskilwa, Wyanet, Princeton, as well as Geneseo, LaSalle, Walnut, Peru, Earlville, Schaumburg, Flossmoor, and the states of Arkansas, Colorado, Alaska!)

Thanks to the Illinois Humanities Council for underwriting performance and travel expenses for Dennis and also to our dear ole TiskHistSoc Board for making it all happen. A special thank-you to THS Class of 1970 for their $1,970 donation and to Connie Kauffman for her years of service on the T-H-S Board.

And a good time was had by all!
