Library Blast from the Past
Old man winter has returned with a vengeance! If you are looking to find some activities to keep you warm until Spring arrives for good, check out our wonderful Tiskilwa Library and pick up a book or two!
Did you know that the Tiskilwa Library Association was created in 1875 when 7 members of the Owl Club each donated $3? It was the first library in Bureau County. The Tiskilwa Library Association was taken over by the Tiskilwa Public Library when it was created under state law in 1894. In 1908 the brick building that still stands on Main Street was built; it is now known as the Community Room.

In 2014 the library expanded into the new addition, which wonderfully compliments the 1908 building. These images show that historic structure that still serves our community. Thanks to the Library for sharing this wonderful history and more on their website www.tisklib.org.
