Tiskilwa Historical Society to Host “As Is” Open House at Former Legion Hall on September 22
The Tiskilwa Historical Society is inviting the community to stop by the old Legion Hall between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, for an Open House. It’s a good chance to see the “Before” look, all the better to appreciate the “After” look in a few months’ time.

The building was recently acquired by the society to house part of the overflow of the Museum on Main’s collection. Plans are being made for two major displays – military items and a country schoolroom – as soon as all the repair and restoration work is completed. The new name for the hall will be Gallery on Galena, a cozy 25 X 40 area to serve as an annex for
T-H-S’s Museum on Main.
Many people who grew up in Tiskilwa remember this hall as the place for their After-Prom All-Nighters, their Boy Scout meetings, their Mother-Daughter Banquets, their Family Reunions, and countless other gatherings. However, most people have not stepped into the venerable old meeting place for decades.

So here’s your chance to stand within those wonderful old knotty pine walls once again, have a few refreshments while you’re there, and reminisce about the long, long ago.
