Tiskilwa Historical Society Hosting Annual “Classic Rides” on August 4

Here’s your chance to show off your special car, truck, tractor, or motorcycle – or maybe more than one of each! The Tiskilwa Historical Society will once again host “Classic Rides” from 9:00 to 12:00 on the museum’s west lawn on Saturday, August 4, before and after the Pow Wow Days parade.

The society is inviting everyone who is proud of their “wheels” to show ‘em off to admiring crowds for inspection and congratulations. There is no sign-up required. Community members are welcome to roll onto the west lawn on August 4 before 9:00 a.m., or to park their special vehicles there after the parade. All kinds of “Classic Rides” as mentioned above will be on display, but folks of various ages may also join the fun to show off bicycles, buggies, and maybe even a tricked-out golf cart.

One special tractor to be displayed at Tiskilwa Historical Society’s “Classic Rides” event is this 1954 Oliver Super 99 GM, a big green machine that was the pride and joy of the late Delmar Beams of Tiskilwa. The “Classic Rides” display will take place on the west lawn of Tiskilwa’s Museum on Main from 9:00 to 12:00 on Saturday, August 4, during Pow Wow Days.
